Speaker John Bercow accuses Sajid Javid of 'incompetence' - BBC News

Business Secretary Sajid Javid was branded "discourteous and incompetent" by Commons Speaker John Bercow for taking too long to reply to an urgent question. Mr Bercow said the cabinet minister should have offered to make a government statement instead. The unusually outspoken criticism from the Speaker came after Mr Javid finished responding to an urgent question from Labour on the steel industry, following the announcement by Tata Steel of nearly 1,200 job losses at its plants in Scunthorpe and Lanarkshire. "It must not happen again," Mr Bercow told the cabinet minister. BREXIT: Speaker Bercow loses it when Ian Blackford brands PM May "a LIAR" (12th February 2019)

The SNP’s Westminster leader Ian Blackford was forced to withdraw an accusation that UK Prime Minister Theresa May was a “liar” as she appeared before MPs to ask for more time to renegotiate her Brexit deal. Mrs May confirmed that there would be another round of votes on Brexit at the end of February, but offered no guarantee that a substantive ‘meaningful vote’ on a deal would take place by then After being accused by the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn of trying to “run down the clock”, the Prime Minister provoked anger by saying: “I wanted to have this sorted before Christmas. It’s not me who wants to run down the clock.” As Mrs May began to reply that Mr Blackford had “inadvertently misled the house” by saying the government had not carried out economic analysis of its Brexit deal, the SNP MP shouted “that’s not true”. There was uproar on the Tory benches when he was then heard to shout “liar”. Speaker John Bercow insisted Mr Blackford withdraw the remark. The SNP leader stood up and told Mr Bercow: “Out of courtesy to yourself, I withdraw.” #Brexit #IanBlackford #TheresaMay #Liar #MisterSpeaker #JohnBercow #HouseOfCommons #UKPolitics #UKParliament

BREXIT "Piece of Sh**"- Dennis Skinner defends swearing at Stewart McDonald in Commons

Firebrand Labour MP Dennis Skinner has defended labelling an SNP MP a “piece of shit” in the Commons. Mr Skinner, who has served as MP for Bolsover for 48 years, told that he wanted to put the SNP “in their place” after Jeremy Corbyn was heckled from their benches during a debate on the Government’s decision to pull the “meaningful vote” on the Prime Minister’s Brexit deal. The 86-year-old, who is widely known as “the Beast of Bolsover” for his uncompromising style, mouthed the insult at Glasgow South MP Stewart McDonald during the debate. Glasgow South MP Mr McDonald tweeted: A new parliamentary habit seems to be forming, whereby any time an SNP MP sat behind Dennis Skinner verbalises any frustration about what Jeremy Corbyn says, he angrily turns round to tell us off. He has just turned round and called me a ‘piece of shit’. He has become a thug.
